Havens to introduce the power of citizen broadcasting to business clients
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 18, 2007 - The Internet's first social radio network, BlogTalkRadio (BTR), today announced the appointment of John C. Havens as Vice President, Business Development. In his new role, Mr. Havens will be responsible for developing BlogTalkRadio's Business Solutions platform, which will allow companies to host live, streaming audio from their websites with up to 1000 participants.
"We are very excited John has joined BTR," said Alan Levy, BlogTalkRadio's founder and CEO. "John is not only one of the most knowledgeable and recognized individuals in the new media space, but he has spent a great deal of time helping companies embrace the next wave of social media applications such as podcasting and live streaming audio."
Mr. Havens joins the company from his new-media consultancy, Podcast Vision and Voice. He is the creator and curator of About.com's guide to podcasting site that features interviews with hundreds of new media's leading players, along with tutorials, case studies, and white papers. John is also the lead organizer for PodCamp NYC, an "un-conference," which drew over 850 participants last April and whose second iteration early next year is expected to top 1,000.
"I'm thrilled to be introducing BlogTalkRadio's capabilities to business clients," said Havens. "My focus will be to introduce the value of live, interactive programming and podcasting for everything from a multi-city conference meeting to live streamed programming used for brand building and lead generation."
