Eagle, ID (PRWEB) June 20, 2007 -- A humorous book for women golfers by Idaho author Elaine Ambrose Romano was the Bronze Winner in the Foreword Book of the Year national competition. The book was published by Mill Park Publishing of Eagle, Idaho. More than 1500 entries from independent publishers were judged on originality, quality, and general excellence by a jury of librarians, booksellers, and national reviewers.
The Red Tease -- A Woman's Adventure in Golf is a collection of the author's columns from The Intermountain Golf Magazine. The humorous commentary also includes "Ballads from the Bunker" and selected nuggets of knowledge gleaned from the author's futile attempts to golf with dignity. The 48-page gift book is selling well at golf courses across the country and is a popular prize at events sponsored by regional chapters of the Executive Women's Golf Association.
Articles from The Red Tease won a writing award from The Idaho Press Club, and the book won the third place award in the humor category in the 2004 Foreword Book of the Year contest. Foreword Magazine is the nation's leading literary review trade journal for independent publishers. The awards are announced each year at Book Expo America, the largest book publishing event in the United States.
Rave reviews for The Red Tease indicate that the author can write much better than she can golf. Letta Meinen, Golf Editor of BellaOnline stated that, "The author entertains with her anecdotes of hitting from the red tees. She made me laugh until tears ran down my face."
Elaine and her husband Michael Romano own Mill Park Publishing and recently moved their business from McCall to Eagle. Their first book, Gators & Taters -- A Week of Bedtime Stories, was chosen as one of only 50 children's books on the Bowker's national recommended reading list and was selected as "Best New Children's Book" by Farmers Market Online. The collection of eight stories also was selected for several statewide reading lists and for the "First Books" program sponsored by Idaho Public Television. Their second book, The Magic Potato, is a bilingual coloring and story book that was adopted by the Idaho State Board of Education for the statewide curriculum. The children's books were inspired by the author's childhood days on an Idaho potato farm. All of the books are written, produced, and printed in Idaho.
Elaine recently signed a book contract with Adams Media to co-author a humorous book with best-selling author Joanne Kimes. The book is titled Menopause Sucks and will be released in 2008. For more information on Mill Park Publishing, log onto www.MillParkPublishing.com
