Educational publishing and services company wins top honors in two categories at prestigious banquet in Washington, D.C.

Bloomington, IN (PRWEB) June 21, 2007 -- It was a big night in our nation’s capital for one small publishing company based in America’s heartland. Solution Tree took the stage twice at the 40th Annual Association of Educational Publishers Awards Banquet & Gala, held June 12, 2007, at the Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel. At the end of the night, the company claimed Distinguished Achievement Awards for a video program and a teacher’s plan book. Let the publishing giants beware, Solution Tree is making an impact on the educational community.

The winning resources received top honors in the category of Professional Development, School/Class Management. The Professional Learning Communities at Work™ Plan Book, by Rebecca DuFour, Richard DuFour, and Robert Eaker, won for best teacher resource. For best technology, the award went to The Four Keys to Effective Classroom and Behavior Management, a video set featuring Richard L. Curwin and Allen N. Mendler. A Solution Tree audio book, Whatever It Takes, by Richard DuFour, Rebecca DuFour, Robert Eaker, and Gayle Karhanek, was the runner-up in this category.

These awards are just two more reminders that small can be mighty, as Solution Tree continues to elicit accolades and earn recognition among educators worldwide. In the past year, the company has added audio books, a Professional Learning Communities at Work™ site license, and interactive video conferencing to its repertoire of multimedia resources and professional development opportunities. In addition, the number and variety of events Solution Tree hosts continue to grow each year.

No stranger to the AEP stage, Solution Tree received two awards in 2003. Peacemakers, developed by Jeremy P. Shapiro for Applewood Centers, Inc., won the Judges’ Award. PASSport to Success, by Vickie Burt, won the Distinguished Achievement Award for Adult Curriculum Packages, Instructional Materials.
