New Author Reveals that True Appreciation of Freedom Requires Hardship and Oppression

What Price Freedom expresses the passion and pain of Russian immigrant to America and author Galina Evangelista

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) June 24, 2007 -- Born and raised in Soviet Russia, Galina Evangelista tells of her remarkable journey from fear to hope in her new book, What Price Freedom, a tribute to those who suffered, often in silence, behind the Iron Curtain. Her remarkable escape culminates in a life of purpose, expression, and an appreciation for American freedom which has been somewhat lost in a time of war and dissention.

Convinced that the Russian government did not want its citizens to understand life on the other side of the Iron Curtain, Evangelista determined to leave behind the totalitarian government regime under which she lived in fear and was asked to support. Her troubles were compounded by a struggling marriage and a half-Jewish son vulnerable to discrimination and violence.

This poignant - and at times painful - story underlines the relativity of freedoms that so many take for granted, and yet so many do not have. Evangelista's description of her new life in America inspires an appreciation of freedom of speech and expression, as well as the ability to build a comfortable and successful life.
