Mick Star's 'Jo-Jo's Redemption' Launches Neo-Classic Rock Era

After years of wandering in urban Rap wilderness, Mick Star's Summer Hit of 2007 pushes Mainstream Pop back to basics.

London, UK. (PRWEB) June 25, 2007 -- With the iTunes release last month of Mick Star's latest single, "Jo-Jo's Redemption" (www.mickeystar.com), it looks as though the wailing electric guitar is back to claim its former place of prominence in mainstream Pop Music.    Mick Star, an "up and coming studio singer/songwriter who has made an internet splash in the UK... (a) very clever wordsmith and melody maker." (Pitt Radio) is the singer/songwriter and Jo-Jo Stout is the producer/arranger. Together, they have created a bit of a summer-hit sensation in Europe that appears to be heading across the Atlantic as quickly as the internet can carry it.

"What is most striking about 'Jo-Jo's Redemption' ", says Brayland Heyes of Westminster Music Press "is the seamlessness. Intro, story, interlude, conclusion are all one. The guitar solo and the last verse are reminiscent of 'Pretzel Logic' by Steely Dan. That's some lofty company."

The Autobiography of Mick Star
The return to Classic Rock is not surprising as many mainstream radio stations use this format featuring Led Zepplin, The Who, The Alman Brothers, The Grateful Dead to name a few. What is surprising is the amount of new "Classic Rock" material appearing on the internet that is produced and marketed at a fraction of the cost.

Mick Star published "The Autobiography of Mick Star" (www.mickeystar.com) online in 2006. "Jo-Jo's Redemption" appears on the website outside of "The Autobiography of Mick Star", but not any less exciting as his masterwork.

"He (Star) is a marvel at writing and conceptualizing pop songs" says Jo-Jo Stout. " As we edit he comes up with little touches that remove seams and ties up loose ends. He's kind of like the blind squirrel who keeps finding nuts."

Mick Star is currently moving to video production with his first video due out this summer. "Welcome to Philadelphia" is aimed at the Philadelphia Sports fan and he is currently working with Augustus Films of Glen Mills, PA.
