In response to the recent STB ruling, FreightCenter, a freight broker offering quotes and arranging transport for freight, reminds consumers that they continue to do all the "heavy lifting" of research, matching, and paperwork at no cost to the one-time, occasional, and small business shipper.

(PRWEB) June 26, 2007 -- In response to the recent STB ruling, FreightCenter, a freight broker offering quotes and arranging transport for freight, reminds consumers that they continue to do all the "heavy lifting" of research, matching, and paperwork at no cost to the one-time, occasional, and small business shipper.

As reported in DC Velocity's June 2007 issue, the Surface Transportation Board (STB) has recently turned the shipping industry on its collective ear by eliminating antitrust immunity for carriers engaged in collective ratemaking and freight classification. This practice has been in place for the past 70 years and is scheduled to take effect after a 120-day waiting period.

I strongly believe that over 70 percent of all shippers are not using the best carrier suited to transport their commodity
This proposed change means both good and bad news for the purchasers of freight transportation services, aka the "shipper". The good news is the overall decrease of transport rates as individual trucking companies compete for their business based on price point. The bad news hasn't really changed: most carriers don't have trucking routes to every destination point, and even then only companies that do high-volume shipping will benefit dealing directly with the trucking companies in the long run.

Thankfully, FreightCenter, a freight broker offering quotes and arranging transport for freight, continues to do all the "heavy lifting" of research, matching, and paperwork at no cost to the one-time, occasional, and small business shipper. "I strongly believe that over 70 percent of all shippers are not using the best carrier suited to transport their commodity," says Matthew Brosious, President and CEO of FreightCenter. "Our system matches a shipper with nationally licensed and federally regulated carriers by filtering based on price, commodity, transit times and level of service." By searching its huge trucking company network to match the shipment to the carrier, clients have the ability to see all available trucking lanes in one place. This is a huge time- and effort-saving advantage, as it takes considerable work to go through individual trucking companies trying to obtain matching routes and rates for comparison. FreightCenter also handles all the paperwork necessary for transport while educating the customer about the shipping process.

The online ratings forerunner has also spent the last year improving its online systems at www.FreightCenter.com with custom software programming specifically made for this industry that no other broker has. FreightCenter execs believe that these proprietary software enhancements to its website will help every customer, residential or commercial, fulfill their freight shipping needs quickly and accurately. In addition, FreightCenter prides itself on a high level of professionalism, customer service, and education. Since informed clients are the best clients, tools like volume calculators, Zip Code lookups, and correct packaging examples are available for use even when the shipper isn't quoting.

Current enhancements to the site allow clients to create a personal account to log in, save obtained quotes, and enter repetitive account information (such as addresses and other pertinent info) at will. All quote results will show multiple carriers and price options for LTL and Truckload shipments, including a wide array of special services.
Now residential and commercial shippers alike can utilize the transportation industry like the big guy by having FreightCenter.com do all the "heavy lifting".

FreightCenter is headquartered in the beautiful Tampa Bay area of Florida at 515 S. MLK Jr. Ave., Clearewater, FL 33756. Contact them at 800-716-7608 or online at www.FreightCenter.com.
