McLean, VA (PRWEB) June 29, 2007 -- Blue Mango Learning Systems releases ScreenSteps 1.1 for trial and purchase.
ScreenSteps allows users to quickly create visual tutorials explaining how to use software applications. Designed for software developers, IT support staff and documentation professionals, ScreenSteps captures each step of the process, with options to add text, annotate images and then export the document to PDF or HTML format.
"Product documentation needs to do more showing and less telling," said Greg DeVore, company co-founder. "Videos can be good but they are very labor intensive to create. ScreenSteps allows you to show someone how to do something with a minimal amount of effort. We created it because we needed it."
With ScreenSteps running, users capture an image of each step of the process they are teaching. ScreenSteps automatically imports these images and organizes them in the order they were captured. Users can then go back, add text, annotate/crop images, and then export to PDF or HTML. Users can even create their own HTML/XML export templates.
ScreenSteps 1.1 includes a major upgrade to the ScreenSteps Annotation Engine. Several new tools are available. The Sequence tool lets users quickly add numbers to an image. The numbers are automatically incremented and if one is deleted the sequence will update. No typing required. An arrow tool has also been added.
ScreenSteps Docs Beta has also been released. ScreenSteps Docs allows users to aggregate multiple ScreenSteps lessons into a full HTML manual.
ScreenSteps 1.1 is available as a free 15-day trial and can be purchased for $39.95.
ScreenSteps Docs Beta is available as a free download.
Both applications run on Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS X.

Since 2003 Blue Mango Learning Systems has been working to re-engineer the way media is used to communicate. The primary focus is clarity of communication and simplicity of creation.
