Mammoth Networks Heats Up Layer 2 Data Market

Denver, CO (PRWEB) June 4, 2007 -- Mammoth Networks has seen an increase in private circuit orders across its network since January of this year. Mammoth privatizes data circuits for Service Providers, who then package and deliver them to corporate customers as part of a private network. Mammoth provides wholesale DSL as its primary product.

Mammoth has interfaced with Qwest's ATM network in 16 telephone regions, or LATAs, to enable the delivery of telco ATM, DSL and Frame Relay at Layer 2 of the OSI stack. This means that Mammoth can carry a telco DSL connection from the End User location to a Mammoth Partner's ATM interface with Mammoth, and allow the Partner to provision their IPs and Internet bandwidth to corporate customers.

The expansive Qwest DSL platform has provided Mammoth and its Partners the ability to reach further into business parks and remote areas. Offerings from other companies are often limited to DSL loops served out of telco Central Offices, meaning they have a reach of less than four miles from each CO. Because Mammoth promotes Qwest DSL for its last mile transport, Mammoth's Partners can reach into more than 12,000 Central Offices and remote DSL terminals.

"We've been quite pleased with DSL and Frame Relay growth in 2007," said Brian Worthen, who heads product development at Mammoth. "We're filling a gap with our network and have seen the benefits of providing a perfect solution to our Layer 2 Partners."

Mammoth's flexibility is emphasized when looking at the type of Partner they service. The company is able to deliver data circuits to wholesale Partners, voice resellers and smaller telcos and CLECs who wish to integrate Qwest's DSL product into their portfolio. The introduction of business-class DSL last year has also improved corporate adoption, with a dedicated four hour repair time, similar to T1.

Mammoth Networks is an aggregator of data services serving eleven Western states. Mammoth enables its Partners by erasing the invisible lines of the telecommunications structure, and leveling the playing field for service providers. The privately-held company is based in Gillette, Wyoming.
