Friends and Family Bring 'Madsen' into Focus
The ultimate movie tough guy, Madsen is so amazing in his deadpan depiction of a Tinseltown train wreck

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 12, 2007 -- In a society where Paris Hilton's jail time stirs up more paparazzi fury than the race for President, a first-rate send-up spoof of a film, called "Being Michael Madsen" certainly sends a profound message to remind people (press and audiences alike) that our addiction to high profiled drama has unfortunately become a number one priority in our misinterpreted world.

Michael Madsen, star of his latest independent faux-documentary film, "Being Michael Madsen", directed by Michael Mongillo, is supported by a montage of friends and family including David Carradine, Daryl Hannah, Vicki Roberts, and his sister Virginia Madsen. The film is a clever thriller surrounding the life, love and slanderous allegations which happen on a daily basis in a world we call Hollywood. "…(F)or this film, he (Madsen) daringly allows himself to be reinvented into a Hollywood idol who is lethally out of control…," stated Phil Hall of Film Threat. "The ultimate movie tough guy, Madsen is so amazing in his deadpan depiction of a Tinseltown train wreck," Hall continues.

In a film surrounded by comical mystery and 'whodunnits', Madsen confided in producer, Daniel A. Sherkow, about casting his celebrity attorney,Vicki Roberts, in the feature film. Roberts has been the devoted legal counsel for Madsen for years and was thrilled to accept the role. Most people in Los Angeles recognize Vicki Roberts for her winning legal career, her celebrity client roster, and her philanthropic endeavors. For many years legendary actors including Oscar nominee Gary Busey, Armand Assante, and David Carradine have all relied on her legal expertise.

Wanting more than just courtroom drama, Vicki Roberts began researching film and television projects several years ago. Since she has access to some of the hottest scripts circulating tinsel town, becoming a part of the "Madsen" film gave her the opportunity to show more than just her legal talents.

"I enjoyed working on Michael's film," said Vicki Roberts, celebrity attorney turned actress. "The critically acclaimed film "Being Michael Madsen" enabled me to play an attorney and also work with some of the most talented actors in Hollywood."

Nationally renowned, Vicki Roberts has been seen frequently on the syndicated television show, Celebrity Justice, and has also appeared on Extra, MSNBC's The Abrams Report, and the popular legal music television show, VH-1's Rock and a Hard Place. She has been quoted on the television show Inside Edition, MSNBC's Scarborough Country, and in newspapers and publications worldwide. Not only is she an actress, Roberts is a leading attorney contributor to the newly released book introduced by Larry King, Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, which is in bookstores nationwide and available on Amazon.com.

In addition to her role in the upcoming Madsen project, Roberts is the executive producer and co-producer of the film, "Passengers", which was featured in the Montreal Film Festival and was also submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for Academy Award consideration in 2004. Roberts also signed on as Executive Producer and featured guest star for the full length documentary about the only known deaf-blind triplets in the world, "Through Your Eyes", which is scheduled for release in 2007 and has already been the subject of a one-hour Dr. Phil Show.

As hailed by Film Threat in a five-star review, "…three cheers and a tiger for Michael Mongillo and his brilliant satire 'Being Michael Madsen'. This wicked, wild, whirling dervish of a movie takes a savage thrust at the culture of celebrity obsession as fueled by a tabloid media that feeds on gossip, innuendo and smears…'Being Michael Madsen' is sharp, smart and utterly original. In the realm of independent cinema, it doesn't get better than this."

In a world surrounded by tabloid addiction, it seems appropriate that Michael would feel comfortable with his trusted attorney, Vicki Roberts, by his side on the project. The message of this film should be a reminder that slanderous allegations and accusations must be viewed with suspicion and skepticism until the truth is revealed in a court of law. And in that arena, celebrity attorney Vicki Roberts has enjoyed a career where her honesty and integrity have always prevailed. She brings that same commitment to her new career as actress and producer.
