The DFW HIMSS Chapter provides leadership for the optimal use of healthcare information technology and management systems for the betterment of healthcare. Members include IT professionals, consultants, vendors, physicians, nurses, professors and students actively working in or interested in the practice areas of management, information systems, telecommunications and clinical systems.

Ms. Mitchell will provide leadership in developing and championing DFW HIMSS educational programs during her 2007-2008 elected term. Ms. Mitchell has over 13 years of industry experience, including 10 years in IT sales, marketing and product development at start-up and leading software businesses. She joined Thru from CA, Inc., one of the leading four IT management software providers, where she was most recently director of global marketing for the customer training services business.
Ms. Mitchell has also held roles as director of education marketing communications, manager of security and optimization services marketing, product marketing manager for backup and recovery, and storage channel marketing manager while at CA. Prior to CA, Ms. Mitchell was the lead product manager for the imageWARE content management software product line at Canon U.S.A., responsible for growing the business from start-up to over $4 million in 18 months. Before joining Canon U.S.A., Ms. Mitchell helped build and grow the Enterprise Toolkit product line as product specialist and product manager at OpenLink Financial, playing a key role in early adoption at JP MorganChase, Bank of Canada, and Duke Energy. Ms. Mitchell has an MBA from Adelphi University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Dowling College.
