(PRWEB) July 5, 2007 -- "When Collision Revision, Inc. was contacted earlier in the year by the Make-A-Wish Foundation® we were more than happy to help out in any way we could," said Dan O'Brien, Regional Operations Manager-MidState Illinois Region. Matt Casagrande was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoplastic Leukemia in June of 2005 and his wish was to have his 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer 'tricked-out'.
Matt's wish of a 'tricked-out' vehicle meant Collision Revision had to do a complete, multi-tone paint job; give it shaved door handles; install a high tech stereo systems; install a touch-screen in-dash navigation system; give it a carbon-fiber race hood and several other miscellaneous customized components.
"I just looked on the Internet and just picked out what I thought looked cool," Matt said.
Sean Monahan, a damage consultant for Collision Revision, who was assigned as the project leader, was the perfect fit because the Casagrandes are regular customers of his. Mr Monahan estimated the project cost in excess of $20,000 at retail prices. Mr. Monahan said much of the project, whether it was the labor involved, parts or paint, was donated.
One of the biggest challenges was that a lot of the items Matt wanted for his car were expense and complex. Collision Revision needed to figure out a way to make sure they could accomplish everything Matt wanted. For example the multi-tone paint job Matt requested, the paint costs as much as $2,500 a gallon. This type of paint job requires the car be painted twice -- the first coat being black, with the multi-tone color coming next. Everyone at Collision Revision, however, stepped up and made sure that Matt's wish became a reality.
"They offered their time without getting paid to go ahead and help the kid out and get what he wanted," Monahan said. The result is a totally unique paint job, one that will set Matt's car off from others. "If someone sees him, they're going to know who it is," Monahan said. "It's an awesome car."
Dan O'Brien noted that Sean Monahan, "really put a lot of energy and effort into ensuring this vehicle came out above and beyond Matt's expectations." Matt, after receiving his vehicle back from Collision Revision said, "I was surprised, shocked, happy and thankful. It exceeded my expectations."
