Absolute Poker today announced that the prize pool of its new Bad Beat Jackpot game has grown to over $250,000 - a new record for the one-week old Texas Hold'em addition.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) July 4, 2007 -- Absolute Poker today announced that the prize pool of its new Bad Beat Jackpot game has grown to over $250,000 - a new record for the one-week old Texas Hold'em addition.

"The jackpot of our highly popular Texas Hold'em game is growing at over $2,000 per hour," stated David Clainer, senior vice president for Absolute Poker. "It's only a matter of time before this jackpot explodes and we shower an unprecedented amount of money on a table of winners."

Clainer notes that site activity was at an all-time high this weekend after Absolute Poker reported that the jackpot had hit $100,000 on Friday. Now that this value has more than doubled, Absolute Poker is gearing up for an influx of new players. He notes that the next time the jackpot hits, the bad beat victim will take home over $100,000. And with poker fans playing up to three tables at once, that could happen sooner than later.

Absolute Poker launched its Bad Beat Jackpot game on Friday, June 22nd. By June 23rd, the first Jackpot had hit and four players collectively won close to $78,000 with the victim of the bad beat claiming over $38,000. By June 26th, Absolute Poker was celebrating its third Bad Beat Jackpot hit. To help the jackpot build, $0.50 is collected from qualifying hands at Bad Beat Jackpot tables. It will keep growing until someone hits a qualifying bad beat.

Absolute Poker is the only online poker site open to American players to feature Bad Beat Jackpot tables. If a player loses a hand holding four 8s or anything better at a Bad Beat Jackpot table, they'll win a piece of the Bad Beat Jackpot.

Bad Beat Jackpot tables are noted with the word "jackpot" written in brackets after the table name and are categorized in red text. Check out the complete details on Absolute Poker's Bad Beat Jackpot.
