UPedia.com Offers Cash Rewards for User Generated How-To Videos

A new site, www.UPedia.com, offers a free platform to make money and promote your business by uploading educational how-to videos: From sports to cooking, guitar lessons to gardening tips -- everything goes. Users are paid on a PPV (Pay Per View) basis.

Tel Aviv, Israel (PRWEB) July 12, 2007 -- UPedia (http://www.upedia.com) is a recently launched platform that enables private individuals and commercial entities to generate revenue, increase brand awareness and build a list of opt-in users through generation of quality, self-made how-to videos. Users who upload videos, a.k.a guides (more info at: http://www.upedia.com/guide_home.php), are rewarded on a Pay Per View (PPV) model. This means every time a video is viewed, the guide who uploads it is credited. Matt Green, UPedia's CEO, explains more:

"Intellectual Property traders who buy and sell content such as music, photographs and video-footage, usually tend to form revenue sharing partnerships. This means that distributors (in this case UPedia website) share their revenue with their content producers (in this case guides who upload movies to UPedia). This is why we think that paying people each time someone watches their movies makes a solid partnership: If a movie is successful, it is viewed more times and is therefore entitled to a bigger reward."

- UPedia is not the first to introduce pay-per-view rewards for people who upload movies. How are you different?

"UPedia is not just another video site which rewards people for uploading content. We designed the UPedia platform to enable people with practical know-how to make profit from what they know through video tutoring. And this takes more than just PPV to accomplish. UPedia provides more means of exposure for guides and creates tools which help guides communicate with users and understand what they're looking for. This way, guides can optimize their work and tune in to public demand. We also teach guides to adhere to proper SEO rules and significantly increase chances of higher rankings for their video and bio pages. The result , Higher quality content, more loyal users and more incoming traffic."

According to Green, UPedia currently offers a PPV of $5 CPM, meaning $5 for every 1,000 views. While this is currently standardized throughout the site, Green adds that in the near future adjustments are planned to incorporate more factors such as topic and rating based formulas to further motivate the production of quality content for popular topics.
