Directory-Owners.com Reaches it One-Year Anniversary

After a very successful first year, Directory-Owners.com has grown immensely in both size and content offered.

(PRWEB) July 17, 2007 -- After a very successful first year, Directory-Owners.com has grown immensely in both size and content offered.

Directory-Owners.com was originally started as an unbiased forum for directory owners and users to share relevant information on the aspects of operating a web directory or web search engine. Other forums existed then and still do today but they are generalized and have a tendency to focus on "webmaster" topics and lose focus of directories and search engines. These other forums have a tendency to also be isolated to a particular directory script or are perhaps dominated by very biased and bullish members.

Everyday I see posts on other forums and blogs where directory owners ask a simple question and literally get flamed due to the poster not being in the clique or because the poster is not running a certain type or brand of script. It's simply disgusting and childish that people get treated this way.
Directory-Owners.com has broken this mold and continues to attract members whom have become upset with the fact that they too want to learn and share even though they may disagree with the crowd. This is what has helped Directory-Owners.com grow at such a rapid pace. Owner and site admin Tom Cooper said, "Everyday I see posts on other forums and blogs where directory owners ask a simple question and literally get flamed due to the poster not being in the clique or because the poster is not running a certain type or brand of script. It's simply disgusting and childish that people get treated this way."

Directory-Owners.com proudly welcomes all script authors, directory owners, and anyone in general who wants to learn and share in an adult manner. Directory-Owners.com does not segregate, isolate or otherwise try to banish anyone from sharing in open dialogue on any topic related to directories and web search engines.

Over the course of the last year Directory-Owners.com has gone through lots of change from being a simple forum to more of a portal targeted at a very niche audience of directory owners and web directory industry professionals and beginners.

To this point the site now has many features and tools outside of the forum itself. It is an ongoing development of each of these tools and areas with new ones being added on a regular basis. All of these directory tools and resources are free of charge.

New features and tools that have shown benefit to the directory owners and users include the one of a kind Directory-Owners Directory (http://directory-owners.com/directory.php). The directory of directories allows any directory owner to list their own site as well as download a CSV list of all listings. The directory also is tied to a unique one of a kind Directory of the Month contest where anyone can cast a vote and it is strictly controlled and fully automated. The monthly ongoing Directory Contest gives away great prizes such as high end Full versions of directory scripts, cash and lots of recognition.

Two other very popular areas of the site are the Market Place (http://www.directory-owners.com/vbclassified.php) and the Template and Mods area (http://www.directory-owners.com/downloads.php). The marketplace allows for buy/sell/auction functions where the template and mods area is a ever growing gallery and download section for modifications and templates from many sources in one central place.

Recently the site launched a directory article area and catalog. (http://www.directory-owners.com/vbarticles.php ) Directory-Owners.com has one of, if not the largest interview catalogs. Included within the article section of the site are also areas covering SEO and major search engines. Any directory owner or directory user can submit an article and the submission interface is very intuitive allowing graphics, sound, video and file attachment.

Just a year old and having achieved vast accomplishments, Directory-Owners.com Forum and Resources site has established itself as the premium directory community portal. Directory-Owners.com motto is “It's not about who you are, who you know, how many posts you have, or what your page rank is...it's about sharing, learning and contributing with the community.”
