BreakThruIT, a global provider of next-generation wireless B-2-B, B-2-C, and C-2-C software frameworks and applications, announced today that it has integrated db4objects' Java and .NET open-source database into its Mobile 2.0 Application Framework. The first application to be delivered utilizing these technologies is Forever Young's initiative called OnceLikeMe, a technology-based mentoring initiative, which will be introduced to children later this summer.

San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) July 25, 2007 -- BreakThruIT, a global provider of next-generation wireless B-2-B, B-2-C, and C-2-C software frameworks and applications, announced today that it has integrated db4objects' Java and .NET open-source database into its Mobile 2.0 Application Framework. The first application to be delivered utilizing these technologies is Forever Young's initiative called OnceLikeMe, a technology-based mentoring initiative, which will be introduced to children later this summer.

The combined technology, will allow for next generation Mobile 2.0 Applications that run on wireless and embedded devices, to work seamlessly in environments where network connectivity is either unreliable or at times, non-existent, Additionally, these applications will be able to persist data, such as search results, photos, images etc., to the wireless/embedded device for subsequent transfer to the person's desktop/laptop or possibly other wireless devices.

"We felt it critical for our Mobile 2.0 Application Framework, and applications built on it, to run regardless of the current wireless network status. This also brings the obvious advantage of allowing these applications to capture and persist data and transfer it subsequently to other devices. Finally, our Mobile 2.0 applications will run natively on the targeted device, be it Java/J2ME CDC/CLDC, or .NET/Compact Framework and Db4Object's database differentiates itself with the same extensive support.

"The seamless integration of the world's most popular object database db4o with BreakThruIT's Mobile 2.0 Application Framework is testament to its ease of use and its ability to run in highly distributed environments, as well as its market differentiating capabilities to run on wireless and embedded devices, and in the enterprise, in either Java or .NET. We are looking forward to partnering with BreakThruIT to enable next-generation B-2-B, B-2-C and C-2-C solutions that will quickly reach into many commercial, consumer and government arenas", says Christof Wittig, CEO of db4objects.

BreakThruIT's CEO, Barrie Slattery further stated, "We are very excited to be working closely with Steve Young's Forever Young OnceLikeMe initiative, and those involved with the One Laptop Per Child effort, in providing the OnceLikeMe application that will benefit from this combined technology. Children and young adults will be able to search for their mentors, and save motivating and inspiring information, images and photos, which can then be synched their laptop or desktop to easily access and draw upon at any time."

BreakThruIT will closely follow this initiative with a more generic Mobile Social Networking Application, to those looking to find people with the common interest, backgrounds, motivations and inspirations, sited above.
