Revolutionary Kitchen Architecture from Poggenpohl and Technologically Innovative Appliance Concepts from Siemens Showcased at Innoventions at Epcot®

Lake Buena Vista, FL (PRWEB) July 28, 2007-- Europe's premiere kitchen architecture and technology companies have combined forces to create the kitchen of the 21st century at the House of Innoventions at Epcot® at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida. The House of Innoventions is part of the resort's famous Innoventions pavilion, a unique 100,000 square foot interactive playground of hands-on exhibits where visitors from around the world discover how science and technology can simplify and enhance their lives today and in the future.

Poggenpohl, Germany's oldest furniture brand recognized for its trendsetting kitchen design, brings the award-winning PLUSMODO kitchen to the House of Innoventions, while Siemens, the number one brand of built-in appliances in Europe, presents a series of concept products displaying the company's world-renowned technological and design expertise.

"The Poggenpohl kitchen is more contemporary than anything we've ever had before in the House of Innoventions. It's really exciting to be able to show guests a new way to think about kitchen design. The Siemens appliances integrated perfectly into the clean lines and modern feel of the kitchen," said Claire Wiley, Senior Interior Designer, Walt Disney Imagineering.

Poggenpohl's PLUSMODO is a revolutionary kitchen architecture based on the dual concept of displaying and concealing, and designed by renowned Spanish furniture and lighting designer Jorge Pensi. Design elements include open and closed areas, with glass pull out trays and sliding doors, illuminated satin glass shelving, and a unique mix of materials (marsh oak wood, satin lacquer finishes and aluminum). The unique six-inch thick quartz countertop is suspended above the four glass pull-out trays. The PLUSMODO kitchen is a model of innovative structure, functionality and ergonomics.

"Poggenpohl's PLUSMODO is the quintessential modern kitchen for the 21st century," said Ted Chappell, president of Poggenpohl U.S., Inc. "We're honored that Innoventions at Epcot® selected Poggenpohl for their newly themed Modern Kitchen of the Future. Poggenpohl is world renowned for innovative kitchen design that's ahead of its time and this exhibit is a great opportunity to expose the Poggenpohl brand to Disney visitors."

Siemens presents futuristic appliance concepts including the avantGarde™ multiMedia Hood -- a ventilation hood with an integrated high-quality flat-screen TV, as well as a DVD and CD player. The company also presents a "lift" oven with a base that descends at the press of a button to the cook's workspace for unprecedented access and easy placement and removal of dishes, and the stylistically advanced metalDesign™ induction cook top whose unusual iridescent metallic color and sheen come from the use of thousands of tiny dots packed together.

"Siemens has always been known for forward-thinking products," says Steve Pyle, Director of Sales for Siemens. "The products we are showcasing at the House of Innoventions are textbook examples of that thinking, applied to every kitchen and laundry need."

The technologically advanced built-in appliances blend German engineering, European styling, pure flush design, and a host of innovative features to bring the American kitchen into the future.
