JumpBox, Inc. an innovative provider of virtual appliances, today announced the public release of its JumpBox 1.0 line of server applications. The start-up software company delivers an inexpensive and simple way to evaluate and deploy server software.
We don't believe server-based software needs to be difficult, frustrating or complex

Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) July 24, 2007 -- JumpBox, Inc., an innovative provider of virtual appliances, today announced the public release of its JumpBox 1.0 line of server applications. The JumpBox platform bundles an entire server-based application into a turn-key, pre-configured unit. JumpBoxes allow for quick and simple deployment of server-based applications and run on a variety of virtualization platforms. Where typical deployment of a server-based application would take a technician several hours or even days, a JumpBox takes minutes.

"JumpBox is changing the way server-based software is set up and managed," said Kimbro Staken, Co-founder and CEO of JumpBox. "We've dramatically lowered the technical skill required to deploy these applications, and in the process opened them up to a whole new group of users."

The company built its first JumpBox for the vTiger Customer Relationship Management system, and has since added JumpBoxes for: Drupal, Joomla!, MediaWiki, DokuWiki, PunBB, WordPress, SugarCRM and Trac/Subversion.

JumpBoxes deploy identically on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux using virtualization solutions from VMWare, Parallels and the Open Source Xen hypervisor. Deployment is quick and requires minimal technical skill. By facilitating faster deployment, lower costs and overhead, and fewer headaches, JumpBoxes let people focus on using the software, not worrying about getting it to work properly.

"We don't believe server-based software needs to be difficult, frustrating or complex," said Sean Tierney, JumpBox Co-founder and COO, "We see a huge benefit to using open source software, but there's this giant technical divide that prohibits the average user from being able to get up and running. Our goal with JumpBox is to eradicate that barrier."

Over the next several months, JumpBox will be aggressively adding to its library of applications to further help professionals and companies alike achieve their objectives by leveraging open source, server-based software.
