Golfballs.com's Design-Your-Own MyJoys Contest Allowing Golfers to Ponder and Prove Wrong the Impossible

What if golf shoes were like snowflakes and no two pairs were exactly alike? This summer, Golfballs.com is tee-ming up with the number-one shoe in golf to hold a contest that is sure to land golfers swinging in the fun, fun, fun sand trap. The aim of this golf balls-y craze is to find the best entrant-designed Myjoys golf shoes. Slated to run from July 15, 2007 through August 31, 2007, the winner of this creative design contest will win a $1,000 gift certificate.

Lafayette, LA (PRWeb) July 25, 2007 -- The summer season is heating up and so is the golf course. In honor of longer green times and more leisurely 18-holers, Golfballs.com is sponsoring a design-your-own golf-shoe contest that’s sure to have the golf world buzzing. Between now and August 31, 2007, visitors to the site are invited to get crazy in designing an original pair of MyJoys, the number-one shoe in golf. The sky’s the limit on just how outlandish the competition will get. At the end of the contest, the pair of submitted MyJoys with the highest overall star ranking, based on fan vote, will win a $1,000 Golfballs.com gift certificate. Golf fanatics who are interested in joining in this Presidents Cup of shoe design can do so online at http://www.golfballs.com/myjoyscontest.

Sports celebrities like Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods are used to having apparel custom designed for them. The everyday hoopster and putter, however, can only dream of such a reality…until now that is. Golfballs.com, the premier online golf store, is catering to amateur golfers’ fantasies with a design-your-own golf-shoe contest. While entry and voting are free, participants will have the option of buying the designer foot duds they create.

We’re already rolling into our contingency plans just to ensure the infrastructure can support the tremendous volume.
When logo options are factored in, the contest allows for millions of unique shoe designs, with one’s imagination being the only limitation. How about an outrageous print that even Duffy Waldorf would be proud to wear? Or what about a “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” pair of MyJoys in a warm and vibrant white-and-yellow combination with a smiley face logo embroidered on the side. Or perhaps you’re more the “Shrek the Third” type in an ogre-ish lime on olive green background.

“We’re only 5 days into the contest and we’re absolutely stunned at the positive response,” says Tom Cox, President and CEO of Golfballs.com, to the 3,000+ unique shoe entries and 55,000+ votes. “We’re already rolling into our contingency plans just to ensure the infrastructure can support the tremendous volume.”

FootJoys, the maker of MyJoys, are trusted by nearly two-thirds of PGA Tour Professionals. With their base, saddle and accent colors all in the hands of the customer, MyJoys come in over 55,000 possible color combinations. But even the flashiest golfing professional never stepped out on the circuit in anything quite like the shoes this contest will feature.

For approximately the next two months, Golfballs.com visitors will be able to design, name and describe their own customized MyJoys golf shoe from among thousands of possibilities. With six base colors, 55 saddle colors, 55 accent colors, three lace colors, and dozens of monogramming and logo options to choose from, the creative results are endless. Each shoe that is designed between now and August 31, 2007 will be put up for general-public voting, with scores determined on the basis of each entry’s quality/creativity factors. The winner of this free contest will be the lucky recipient of a $1,000 Golfballs.com gift certificate. He or she will also earn bragging rights as the “Wildest and Craziest Golf Shoe Designer.”
