The Stork Store, owned by a mother and created for mothers, and mothers in business has launched a redesigned and improved website selling unique birth announcements and personalized baby gifts.

(PRWEB) August 30, 2007 -- Online baby birth announcement and gift e-tailer, The Stork Store, recently launched a redesigned and improved website. The plan behind the design is to make it easier for customers to navigate and discover new gift ideas as well as make it a more secure shopping experience.

As a mother I understand how important it is to feel good about the gift you are giving. The last thing anyone wants is to buy or give a present that is second rate. When customers ask me about my products, I tell them that I only carry items that I would proudly give or receive as a gift.
"When we first started our website it was home made and had a rough look. This site carried us for the first few years. As our customer base continued to grow, I decided it was time to pair with a professional web design firm to update the look and usability of the site." stated Amy Zaslansky, owner of The Stork Store.

With the new and improved site, customers can find the category they are looking for and the exact gift more easily. They receive monthly coupons and updates on the new products added to the site through an enhanced e-mail mailing list. Customers can feel confident that their information is transmitted through a secure server and their customer information is retained to make return visits quick and effortless. Zaslansky has also made search engine optimization changes so that the search engines can better identify her site and perspective customers can find her store easier.

Along with the redesign, The Stork Store continues to push to make shopping more convenient for mothers. As a mother of two, and expecting her third in October, Zaslansky understands how difficult shopping can be for time pressed mothers.

"After I had my first son, I realized how hard it is for mothers to just go to the mall to pick something up, never mind window shopping or browsing if you didn't know what you wanted. The Stork Store, tries to make it easier for mothers to order special, personalized items right from their own homes. We love to highlight unique gifts like the famous personalized name trains," explained Zaslansky.

With the explosion of e-commerce over the internet, consumers have been able to purchases products without the trouble and crowds of retail stores. However, some consumers still have concerns about ordering items online from stores they are not familiar with and without really knowing the quality of products.

Zaslansky explains "As a mother I understand how important it is to feel good about the gift you are giving. The last thing anyone wants is to buy or give a present that is second rate. When customers ask me about my products, I tell them that I only carry items that I would proudly give or receive as a gift."

Thus far, Zaslansky has had an extremely positive response from her customers as most of them continue to reorder and rely on The Stork Store as their primary store for gifts. The Stork Store carries a wide variety of items from birth announcements and gift stickers to hand painted baby plates to other baby artwork.

Zaslansky always gives her customers special attention as customer service is a focal point for The Stork Store. She understands that you always treat your customers the way you want to be treated. Not only does The Stork Store try to cater to mothers as consumers, but also to mothers as business women.

"Most of my vendors are small business owners, like me, with children at home" stated Zaslansky. "I always look to carry the best items for my store, but whenever possible I try to help other mom's with their business. When I started, my first web site was created by a stay at home mother who did web design on the side. Now some of my top suppliers are work from home moms. I have found that people in similar positions tend to help each other a little more, and go the extra mile. This ultimately helps my customers which is my number 1 priority."

In addition to working with mothers as clients and suppliers Zaslansky has recently written an article to help them on starting a web based business. "I have spoken with a lot of new mothers who want to work in addition to raising their children. Web based businesses allows them to do both, however, they don't know where to begin. I thought it was important for me to share what I learned over the past 4-5 years." The article discusses some important aspects of business from credit card merchants, to suppliers, and web optimization (marketing). It is a great quick read for someone who is thinking of starting an e-commerce site.
