Action Management Associates, Inc's Director of Business Development Joe Jordan has been appointed an instructor at the Business Leadership Center (BLC) at Southern Methodist University's (SMU) Cox School of Business.

(PRWEB) August 4, 2007 -- Action Management Associates, Inc's Director of Business Development Joe Jordan has been appointed an instructor at the Business Leadership Center (BLC) at Southern Methodist University's (SMU) Cox School of Business.

Jordan will be teaching a course specifically designed for graduate students in the BLC. The program gives students an opportunity to explore, discuss, and become more skilled in one of the most important dimensions of business leadership--decision making. The value of this discussion is captured in the fact that every dollar a company spends or receives is the result of a decision, and most decisions grow out of problems or creative opportunities.

During the session students will gain the knowledge and skills to identify the internal and external drivers that delay important decisions, develop strategies for overcoming decision-making inertia, initiate a process for making criteria-based decisions and demonstrate greater confidence when making critical organizational decisions.

"Research presents an uncomfortably clear record--many leaders are not particularly effective at making decisions and then ensuring that those decisions are implemented as planned," said Jordan. "If every business leader improved his/her ability to make decisions by a few percentage points, the positive effect on business results would be dramatic. In this course, we hope to help the students of the BLC become more effective in their decision making skills."
