Among the latest features are printing sub-systems for direct printing to metalphoto® anodized aluminum plates, Windows-driven lasers and integration to Seagull Scientific BarTender® label design software. "The printing capabilities of v1.6 mean that UID Comply! integrates with and drives a wide variety of label design and printing technologies," says Product Manager Jim Daniels. "In addition the enhanced mobile computing features of v1.6 enable data harvesting in operational settings such as repair, inventory, QA, asset visibility, tracking, warehousing and disposal." Additional new features support embedding and configuration of data and simplified and enhanced data import.

UID is mandated landmark policy by the DoD requiring all assets and personal property owned by the DoD, including assets in the possession of contractors and legacy items at military installations, to be marked with a unique serialized identification number and then registered in accordance with MIL STD 130.
