Retail Stores are Saving Energy and Minimizing Overhead Costs

As summer approaches, retailers are updating and improving facility lighting and energy efficiency.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) August 8th, 2007 - With summer months come soaring energy bills, with 40 to 80 percent of those costs being fluorescent lighting expenses. By installing energy efficient lighting and lighting energy management systems, retail businesses are saving about 42 percent on lighting costs every month.

A new fluorescent lighting energy management system, EnerLume-EM™, is capable of reducing the amount of power and can save retailers money. EnerLume-EM™ can be used in new or existing fluorescent lighting systems and it not only produces bottom-line savings and energy conservation, it also establishes consistent lighting comfort levels.

"As retail businesses continue to engage in energy efficient procedures, many are finding that a lighting energy management system, like EnerLume-EM™, will allow them to maintain their perceived light levels during their long summer hours," said Max Graber of McBride M-Power Nationwide. "Along with reliable and consistent illumination, EnerLume-EM™ can reduce a retailers' current electricity use by about 15 percent."

In addition to the monetary and energy savings, retailers who install EnerLume-EM™ are offered government tax deductions for reducing energy output. The Interim Lighting Rules offer an accelerated tax deduction on either the complete cost of installing energy-efficient interior lighting; or savings per square foot proportional to lighting power density. Visit http://www.lightingtaxdeduction.org/tax5_2.html for complete Interim Lighting Rules and tax deduction details.

About EnerLume-EM™
The EnerLume-EM™ is a patent pending lighting energy management system which uses technology to manage incoming power so that the ballasts for fluorescent lights draw energy from the electric wave only when power transmissions is most efficient. This allows perceived light levels to be maintained, while reducing electricity use by up to 15 percent. Additional energy savings can be achieved by using EnerLume-EM™ to dim or selectively curtail lights during after hour periods.

EnerLume Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Host America Corporation, a publicly traded outsource provider of Food Service Management and Energy Management Conservation.
