Ascend One Corp., parent company to CareOne Services Inc., is recognized along with 25 other Maryland companies as an outstanding employer for its family friendly workplace practices.

The company is recognized for its Virtual Workforce, which is an innovative work/life balance strategy that allows team members the opportunity to work from the comforts of their own homes. Ascend One introduced the virtual work arrangement for its contact center team members in August 2006.

Nearly 200 team members have taken advantage of this benefit, and currently, 50% of the contact center workforce works virtually.

Since starting the virtual workforce, Ascend One has seen increased productivity, the retention of experienced team members, and the ability to recruit new team members from a larger pool of qualified people. The virtual workforce has also provided an unexpected benefit environmentally and economically. By not commuting to work, team members are conserving energy and saving money on gasoline costs.

CareOne Services, Inc. Solutions Coach Michel Hayes has participated in the virtual workforce program since its inception and is thrilled to be working from home. "I choose my own environment, so it really helps me," he says, "And, I'm much more productive than I was in the office where there are so many distractions."
