New Book Offers Help to Real People Who Want to Start a Real Home Based Business

Fed up with silly scams, useless information, and increasingly weird multi-level "opportunities"; entrepreneur / business author Dan Furman gives owners of REAL home based businesses the success formula they are looking for.

Kingston, NY (PRWEB) August 30, 2007 -- It was the packet of green jelly that finally struck home. Business copywriter and marketing consultant Dan Furman remembers the product well.

"A client was starting a new home based business, and wanted me to write copy for a new multi-level marketing product she would be selling - a 'healthy' gel snack, sold in foil packets. Essentially, it was a packet of goo people were supposed to eat. I thought to myself 'this is just going too far. Why can't people just start real businesses?'"

A client was starting a new home based business, and wanted me to write copy for a new multi-level marketing product she would be selling - a 'healthy' gel snack, sold in foil packets. Essentially, it was a packet of goo people were supposed to eat. I thought to myself 'this is just going too far. Why can't people just start real businesses?'
Furman, an owner of a home-based copywriting and marketing business, decided to write a book detailing the ins and outs of running a real business in (or out of) your home. The book is entitled "Start and Run a Real Home Based Business", and is now available at bookstores nationwide and online retailers like Amazon.com as well.

The book details Furman's expertise on the subject of running a home based business, expertise gained from years of being in business himself, both in success and failure. It's also aimed at owners of what Furman calls "real" businesses. "Nothing against wannabe mystery shoppers, scrapbook party-givers, or the latest multi-level fad, but in my mind, those aren't real businesses," says Furman. "When you talk about a real home based business, you're talking about a web designer, a plumber, someone who runs a daycare out of their home, a pet sitting service, a contractor, a writer like me, someone who makes a product and sells it online, etc. That's who this book is for - people who want to start those businesses, or already own them and want some tips on running them."

Furman's book is broken up into 55 topics essential to home based business owners; each running anywhere from two to five pages each. The tone is also decidedly blunt, and rather funny as well. "I want people to read the book and learn from it. What better way to do that than make someone laugh?" states Furman. "My entrepreneurial career has been filled with all kinds of funny stories, and I'm not shy about telling them, even if some of the mistakes I made were a little embarrassing."
