Joins fitness team looking to make a positive impact on Healthcare Cost

(PRWEB) August 25, 2007 -- Jerry Hill, owner of Alexandria-based CrossFit Challenge is one of hundreds of Fitness Professionals Nationwide to dare local residents to take the Michael Moore Health Challenge.

"Michael Moore is not afraid to stand in the face of controversy, he digs deep for the story he is after and his films both touch the nerves and hit the hearts of movie goers everywhere. I am not agreeing or disagreeing with Moore's entire political stance, however, his latest movie, 'Sicko' about the current state of the Nation's Healthcare Insurance can be inspiration for everyone to make a personal change in how they deal with their health," states Hill.

Hill continues, "For too long we have relied on our national system to take care of us when many of our health problems can be prevented before it gets to a medical and very costly intervention level."

Further proof lies in the research at the Center of Disease Control, (CDC), which has shown our Nations healthcare insurance would improve if our obesity rates weren't so high. They conclude that 50% of Adults don't get enough daily exercise to provide health benefits; and that number jumps to 67% of all young people grades 9-12. Our poor choices regarding Health and fitness are not only affecting health care cost it's compounding the problem for our kids.

"Changing the culture from one of treating sickness to staying healthy calls for small steps and good choices to be made each and every day," says Michael Leavitt from the CDC.

Hill adds; "Fitness Professionals Nationwide bridge that gap, they help clients embrace healthier living through daily lifestyle changes regarding fitness and nutrition." In particular, training at a Crossfit facility, (there are hundreds Worldwide), helps to create an environment and a community where members can finally succeed in their fitness goal."

Hill's CrossFit Challenge held in Alexandria is accessible to residents of Arlington, Fairfax, Falls Church, and the Washington DC metro area. Hill holds fitness classes six days a week, giving CrossFit Challenge team members the opportunity for healthy steps almost every day; for more information visit http://www.crossfitchallenge.com
