Mesa Dynamics announced today the alpha preview release of Amnesty Hypercube for Windows, the first universal desktop platform for web widgets, including Google Gadgets and the hundreds of thousands of other publicly available web widgets, Flash games and videos that are designed to run on the web.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 28, 2007 -- Mesa Dynamics announced today the alpha preview release of Amnesty Hypercube for Windows, the first universal desktop platform for web widgets, including Google Gadgets and the hundreds of thousands of other publicly available web widgets, Flash games and videos that are designed to run on the web.

Until now, web widgets have been largely targeted at tech savvy online publishers who insert HTML code snippets for these mini-applications into their blogs, homepages and social networking profile pages. Amnesty Hypercube opens the vast and growing web widget world to the everyday user by providing a local platform for importing, using, collecting and managing all kinds of web widgets outside of the web browser.

Amnesty Hypercube includes a variety of user interface features that simplify the acquisition and management of web widgets, including an extensive directory of over 150 web widget providers that can be browsed by category and explored from inside the application. Widgets from the provider directory can be imported automatically into Amnesty Hypercube via its "NoClick" technology. Amnesty Hypercube also can be used to sort large widget collections into categories that are stored and viewed within separate full-screen "cubes" or directly on the desktop.

For users of Windows Vista, Amnesty Hypercube acts as a bridge between the web and the desktop widget space, allowing a user to push any web widget from inside Amnesty Hypercube into the Sidebar with one click; all widget format translation is handled transparently.

The alpha preview of Amnesty Hypercube for Windows is immediately available for download at http://www.amnestywidgets.com and requires Windows XP with .NET 2.0 or later, or Windows Vista. A Macintosh version of the alpha preview of Amnesty Hypercube is also available and requires OS X Panther (10.3.9) or later. All versions of the application are freeware.

Mesa Dynamics, LLC is a privately held software development company specializing in innovative desktop applications, including the Amnesty line of widget products, which the company first introduced in 2005.

Mesa Dynamics and Amnesty are trademarks of Mesa Dynamics, LLC. Other company and product names are each trademarks of their respective owners.
