"A.T.I. raises the level of substance abuse and mental health treatment by incorporating environmental healing into its trademarked treatment models"

Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) August 2, 2007 -- Alternative Treatment International, Inc., a holistic, non-12-step, residential treatment program for addictions and emotional disorders, is the only program in its field that actively practices global cooling and international reforestation as a standard in its organization.

According to Julia Stewart, CEO, "A.T.I. partnered with the international organization, Trees for the Future, to plant 400 fast-growing trees, in various locations in the world that have been deforested, on behalf of each client that is admitted to the A.T.I. residential program. A.T.I. presents each client with an official certificate and information that has been provided by Trees for the Future. This information explains the positive impact and hope that the client has brought to communities around the world. These fast-growing, permanent trees protect fragile uplands and assure that families can continue to live in dignity and in harmony with the natural resources of their lands. Each year, these trees will remove many tons of pollution from the global atmosphere, replacing it with life-giving oxygen, while protecting lands and assisting the natural return of past diversity. Just since October of 2006, A.T.I. has planted, through its partnership with Trees for the Future, over 40,000 trees through its client certificate and global cooling business program."

Ms. Stewart explains that, "a majority of our clients have been living a drug or alcohol lifestyle or have been suffering from depression, anxiety or other emotional disorders, and typically suffer from significantly low self-esteem. By having a grove of trees planted in the clients' honor, knowing that the planting will continue to expand, the clients are made aware that they have done something "good', not by only coming into treatment to improve their life, but by helping the global environment and many people around the world. Just by coming to A.T.I., clients have begun the process of building the self-esteem that has been lost due to their past negative perceptions, thinking and behavior."

A.T.I. also makes every effort to use environmentally/socially responsible products throughout its organization. Ms. Stewart adds that, "by incorporating A.T.I.'s trademarked treatment model approaches, Perception Therapy® and Mind-Body-Spirit-Environment®, we see a profound healing of the whole person rather than just a temporary cessation of the symptom for which they entered treatment."
