Second Lifers Gear Up for the First Friday Tech Expo

Second Life's top gadgeteers meet to demo their new technologies to a packed audience at Metaversed.com's famous First Friday Tech Expo.

(PRWEB) September 5, 2007 -- Metaversed.com's monthly technology expo, known as "First Friday" in Second Life, is about to kick into high gear as technologists, inventors, scriptors and gadgeteers meet to demo the most exciting new Second Life technologies of the moment. This month's show will feature no less than 3 brand new video streaming applications as well as instant messaging and auction tech not yet released to the public.

Navillus Batra of i3D, known for innovation in everything from basic video and image displays to interactive multimedia products for collaboration and conferencing in Second Life will unveil the vHud, a new streaming media device for use in the virtual world.

Well-known inventors and problem solvers Temporal Mitra and Bopete Yossarian will demonstrate their new streaming TV device for use in Second Life. A breakthrough new technology that requires no adjustment to the media url on the owners land, and can stream separate and different streams to different users at the same time.

Ksso Yamauba tackles the tough problems of binding the Web to the Metaverse with SL-Messenger, which enables Second Life users to keep track of where they have been, keep in touch with the people they meet, and let online users communicate with them while inworld.

Jimjimjim Allen will show off a 3D implementation of the classic web auctioning system for Second Life. You could describe the new system as eBay for the virtual world.

And finally, Tue Torok and Arnout Sequent of SL Internet will demonstrate their innovative new video menuing systems and streaming media technologies.
