DocChaser.com, a free web tool for tracking hits on word documents, has recently launched. Microsoft Office users can find out who is reading their Word files, and even be notified via e-mail when someone opens their .DOC.
(PRWEB) September 10, 2007 -- DocChaser.com announces its recent launch, which allows anyone to track the movements of their word documents. Similar to the “read-receipt” technology available for e-mail, users of Microsoft Office will now be able to check when their documents are opened.
“The last time I sent my resume, I immediately knew who was interested,” says Brian Klug, founder and first user of DocChaser.com. “There was one company that looked at my resume eight times in a three day period. This compelled me to do some additional research about the company – I was more than ready when the interviewer called.”
The free tool, available at http://www.docchaser.com, offers a simple interface in which to track your .DOC files.
- A map of the United States pinpoints the actual locations of those who open your document.
- An itemized list details each instance that the document is viewed, and a suite of charting and graphing tools provide further analysis of your document's travels.
- The free online tool will optionally e-mail you each time that someone reads your document.
“It's like Google Analytics – but for Word Documents,” said Brian. “When one publishes a document within their organization, often they need to be certain it doesn't leave the organization. Now they have knowledge of where their documents go after they hit the 'Send' button.”
