THE NO ASSHOLE RULE wins Quill Award for Best Business Book of 2007 capping a year of bestseller lists, accolades and strong response from the public and corporate America.

New York, NY (PRWEB) September 14, 2007 -- The Quill Awards announced this week that THE NO ASSHOLE RULE by Stanford Professor Robert Sutton won the Quill Award for the Best Business Book published in 2007. The Voting Board consisted of more than 6,000 booksellers and librarians who voted for the winners in 18 categories. http://www.thequills.org/press.html

The award caps a year of success for the book after hitting The New York Times bestseller list, The Wall Street Journal bestseller list, the BusinessWeek bestseller list (currently #7), the USA Today bestseller list, the Publishers Weekly bestseller list and the #1 ranking on the Amazon nonfiction bestseller list. The book was also a bestseller in France and Germany, the two countries where the book has been translated so far. An Italian translation was just published this week.

B School All Star Professors
An article that Sutton adapted from the book called "Building the Civilized Workplace" is the year's #1 online download for The McKinsey Quarterly. And Sutton's online diagnostic tool called The Arse Test has been completed by over 110,000 people who were determined to discover if they are an asshole. http://electricpulp.com/guykawasaki/arse/

The book's success, as well as Sutton's prior work, led BusinessWeek Online to identify him as one of the top ten "B School All Star Professors", scholars who have real world impact.

Sutton's research on jerks in the workplace and the damage they cause not only hit a nerve with the public but also with Fortune 500 companies. This year Sutton was invited to speak on the topic by General Motors, Microsoft, eBay, Google (twice), Yahoo!, Littler LLC (America's largest employment law firm), to an executive program at Stanford for National Football League executives, the Concours group (senior IT executives) and many other organizations.

Demonstrating that the book was not just popular, but influential, many companies have adopted the rule or something close to it.
