Their site, http://BangOutGames.com, launched just recently, indicates they have very high ambitions. Their goal is to be the publisher of the most casual games each and every year. And they aim to accomplish that by providing funding, marketing, QA and other supporting services to indies, in exchange for a share of game sale royalties. The first casual game they funded is Warpbreaker by MoxieFish, due out in 3 weeks. Warpbreaker is a cross between Tempest and Breakout.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) September 25, 2007 -- Bang Out Games, a team of Entrepreneurs and Game Industry Veterans, claims to be the first company to offer funding to independent casual game developers around the world.

This interesting business model comes on the heals of major investments made in the Casual Games market by giants such as Viacom ($100 million), Electronic Arts ($500 Million) and Disney ($700 Million).

When asked about their business model, Bang Out Games CEO, Mark Kanter said "It just makes sense. With the ever-growing pool of unrealized talent in the industry - talent that would normally be passed over - Bang Out Games is providing a vehicle for people with truly innovative ideas to bring them to market, without the risks or pitfalls normally associated with developing games independently."

With the Casual Game market slated to exceed $1.5 billion in revenue in 2008 and the PC market doubling every 2 years, Bang Out Games certainly is positioning itself well. In addition to financing, Bang Out Games management team, consisting of veterans from Sony Online, Electronic Arts, and Rockstar Angel Studios, will provide the necessary mundane services indies need to succeed, at no cost. This includes QA, Feedback, Milestone Management, Backup Services, Marketing, and Payment Processing. All this in exchange for a share of royalties on game sales.

"We've really struck a chord with the community," says Kanter. "I'm receiving emails from people saying 'What we are doing for indies is really great - a breath of fresh air', and that is so rewarding."

The first casual game they funded is Warpbreaker by MoxieFish, due out in 3 weeks. Warpbreaker is a cross between Tempest and Breakout. Warpbreaker will be distributed for free download (try and buy) through Bang Out Games' portals, distribution partners and affiliate networks, enabling distribution to over 100,000 sites.

"The developers of Warpbreaker are really passionate about making games and that's who we want to work with", said Kanter.

Warpbreaker is the first game in a multi-game deal between Bang Out Games and MoxieFish. "It's a win-win situation," says Kanter. "Our internal production team is helping put the finishing touches on Warpbreaker, while our marketing arm will allow Moxiefish to focus immediately on developing their next game."

Bang Out Games is looking for more casual games to fund. Interested casual game developers are asked to visit http://BangOutGames.com for details on how to submit a game idea for potential funding. Bang Out Games is also interested in games already underway or completed.

Well, first there was Web 2.0, now there is Game Funding 2.0. I wonder what 3.0 will bring?
