National Art Ed Franchise Introduces TeenzArt Fashion Forward Program as Enrichment for Middle Schoolers

New Braunfels, TX (PRWEB) September 24, 2007 -- Aspiring career fashionistas are getting a jump start on their desired profession although they're only in middle school. While the excitement and glamour of high fashion is nothing new to most kids, local students are taking advantage of a design and drawing class that lets them create their own fashions while learning sketching techniques, artistic styles and the language of the fashion industry.

"Kids have a greater interest and understanding of fashion than ever before," says Shell Herman, CEO of KidzArt, a national art education franchise that promotes imaginative thinking and problem solving. "The creativity and excitement that goes into learning fashion illustration is very popular among middle school-aged kids."

Kids have a greater interest and understanding of fashion than ever before
KidzArt's new TeenzArt Fashion Forward program teaches middle school children, grades 6-9, the skills related to problem solving, art and drawing techniques while building their confidence. Filling the middle school enrichment program gap, TeenzArt Fashion Forward was created with the prevailing KidzArt philosophy: to inspire creativity in children and encourage a "no mistakes" philosophy.

"I saw this class and since I love fashion I thought it would be cool,'' says McKenna, a 7th grade Fashion Forward student from California. "We learn how to design our own fashion lines and work with different fabrics. We talk about the fashion business and make cool things like headbands and handbags. You don't have to be good at drawing; you just have to like fashion which makes it fun!"

"This program targets the young teen and burgeoning tween markets that are into glamour, fashion and anything chic or retro," says Herman. "Middle school girls are attracted to this class because they can express their artistic style without any judgment."
