New Curriculum To Educate Users On The Impact Of Documentum 6

Williston, VT (PRWEB) September 25, 2007 -- Daybreak Intellectual Capital Solutions, Inc., a provider of enterprise content management (ECM) software, consulting, and training services, today announced a new training offering that provides a comprehensive primer to users seeking to fully understand the impact of the myriad new features and enhancements to Documentum 6, the latest version of EMC's flagship enterprise content management platform. Entitled What Documentum 6 Can Do For You, the new offering provides valuable insight to users who are considering migrating to or implementing the new version.

This course is geared to both business and technical audiences. It reviews the many new D6 features as well as their benefits to an organization, including significant changes to the development platform. Key topics include the move to Service Oriented Architecture with the introduction of Documentum Foundation Services (DFS), as well as Transactional Content Management (TCM) and the TaskSpace client. An overview of the new development tools available in D6 are also reviewed, including the new Java DMCL and Eclipse-based tools. The course concludes with a discussion of migration plans from previous versions of Documentum products, as well as support elements and service pack release timelines.

D6 is the most significant release in years on the Documentum platform
"D6 is the most significant release in years on the Documentum platform," said Kara Cleaver, Daybreak ICS President and CEO. "Not only has EMC re-architected the platform with a web services API, they've introduced Transactional Content Management as a cornerstone component to the new version. These are not minor upgrades. Users are eager for guidance and education on the impact of this major release and how they can leverage it to provide ROI to their organizations. That's what this training offering is designed to provide."

What Documentum 6 Can Do For You will initially be offered in a two-day classroom session and is delivered onsite at client locations. Daybreak plans to kick off a roadshow series of the offering in the near future and will be hosting sessions publicly in various cities across the country.
