All-natural, premium frozen pasta showcases "Wildly Creative Cooking".

Brattleboro, VT (PRWEB) September 28, 2007 -- The Natural Pasta Company, LLC d/b/a Putney Pasta today announced it will introduce five new "Lotsa Pasta" family packs and three new flavors at the 2007 Expo East Natural Products Trade Show in Baltimore this week.

"We've found that consumers not only want high quality, all-natural products, but also portions large enough to feed the entire family," said Carol Berry, COO and Co-founder. "Our Lotsa Pasta family packs offer restaurant quality meals with enough pasta so everyone can enjoy."

Over the past few years, and reflecting the overall market trend of family portions in other segments, Putney Pasta has experienced major growth with two existing family pack items: Cheese Ravioli and Cheese Tortellini. Due to demand, these two items are now moving from traditional trays to stand-up gusseted bags and package sizes are being increased to 18 oz.

The five new Lotsa Pasta family packs include: Three Cheese Ravioli (formerly Cheese Ravioli) Three Cheese Tortellini (formerly Cheese Ravioli); Cheesy Pizza Mini Ravioli; Whole Wheat Spinach & Cheese Ravioli; and Portobello & Grilled Onion Ravioli. The last three Lotsa Pasta flavors, Cheesy Pizza Mini Ravioli, Whole Wheat Spinach & Cheese Ravioli, and Portobello & Grilled Onion Ravioli, are brand new recipes cooked up in the Putney Pasta kitchen.

In addition, Putney Pasta's new Lotsa Pasta family packs require only two-to-three minutes to prepare. "Families want a quick, easy-to-prepare, great tasting meal - this is exactly what this new product line offers," continued Berry. "The new packaging, using gusset bags instead of trays, is unique for the natural channel and the new flavors deliver on our brand's promise of wildly creative cooking."

The Putney Pasta brand was founded in 1983 in Putney, Vermont in the horse barn of Carol Berry and Jonathan Altman. At that time, most of the filled pasta available in the U.S. was low-end and doughy, and turned thick and gummy when boiled.

"When we first started in 1983, pasta was truly considered a 'belly stuffer' food in the U.S.", said Berry. "Meat and cheese, ravioli and tortellini--these were the only choices in the filled pasta industry. They were neither good tasting, healthy nor made with fresh, all-natural ingredients. With Putney Pasta, we wanted to do something different."

Putney Pasta paired bold, adventurous flavors, such as rich butternut squash with Vermont maple syrup, succulent mushrooms with rich imported Gruyére, and black beans with spicy Habañero peppers. The goal was to make Putney Pasta flavors so delicious, that they needed but a splash of extra virgin olive oil or a dash of sea salt to "sauce" them.

Putney Pasta products are currently available at grocery and independent natural food stores across the nation, including Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Hannaford, Wegmans and Price Chopper. The new Lotsa Pasta family packs and new flavors will be on retail shelves in early '08, with a standard retail price of $5.99.

Putney Pasta will be exhibiting at booth # 3410 at the 2007 Expo East Natural Products Trade Show.
