Radisson Edwardian New Providence Wharf will open on 10 September in a stunning waterside location, bringing a new brand of contemporary luxury to the Canary Wharf area. The 169-bedroom, 4-star deluxe new-build property occupies a prime riverside spot, boasting panoramic views of the river.

(PRWEB) August 31, 2007 -- The stunning vista spans from Greenwich to Canary Wharf and down to London City Airport with the O2 arena directly opposite, and is integral to the essence of the hotel. Water is also the pervading theme within the light and airy eight-storey building, which features visual references to the river in the use of colour and materials.

Luxury comes in the form of space. This is evident the moment guests arrive, via a triple height glass atrium linking the hotel to the adjacent residential development of Ontario Tower. A sweeping staircase links the lobby with the 100-cover Azura restaurant and bar, whilst the first floor houses a dedicated bar serving the impressive Ontario room. Set on a balcony, the bar overlooks the striking hotel lobby below and offers the perfect spot for socialising before, during and after a first floor event.

Azura will feature a menu of contemporary dishes made with British ingredients, in a spacious dining room with floor to ceiling windows. The adjacent alfresco terrace seats 45 on low tables and sofas. Boasting impressive views of the river and O2, this is destined to become a popular 'chill out' spot for hotel guests, local residents and the increasing number of visitors to the area.

Embracing a thoroughly modern approach to wellbeing, the East River Spa will span the entire first floor of Ontario Tower and is reached by a glass-panelled walkway across the impressive lobby. The spa features six treatment rooms with integrated showers offering a range of treatments by Pevonia, catering for stressed out business travellers, leisure guests and Canary Wharf residents.

A spacious gym features state of the art equipment and is flooded in natural daylight, with impressive urban views to the city and Canary Wharf whilst the relaxation room offers peaceful views of the water from the comfort of six gently warmed mineral Hamam beds.

The 169 beautiful and spacious bedrooms and suites including the stunning 7th floor Penthouse are understated, contemporary and luxurious. Each room is decorated using a unique combination of materials and finishes in a neutral colour palette, giving a personal feel. Air conditioning and triple glazing ensure a perfect night's sleep, and the windows open for those who prefer fresh air.

Unique design touches include the wall-mounted limited edition sculptures of metal mesh nudes, commissioned from internationally acclaimed British sculptor David Begbie. All bedrooms feature 'wet rooms' with baths and walk-in showers, dressed in matt and polished black porcelain. Spacious and luxurious, they provide a pleasing extension to the living space.

Opulence and indulgence take on a thoroughly contemporary feel with wall mounted flat screen Bang & Olufsen Beovision 7 and 8 televisions - a worldwide exclusive to Radisson Edwardian, with New Providence Wharf leading the way within the group.

Business facilities include seven conference, meeting and banqueting rooms catering for up to 200 guests, all featuring natural daylight and state of the art audio-visual facilities.

The hotel is ideally located close to Canary Wharf, London City Airport, and the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. It is also extremely convenient for the O2, which hosts concerts, sporting events, cinemas and exhibitions year-round.

The Radisson Edwardian will be adjacent to Ontario Tower, a residential development by Ballymore Properties. Ontario Tower is currently the tallest residential building in Canary Wharf, designed by world renowned architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM).
