St Thomas, Virgin Islands (PRWEB) September 11, 2007 -- Fair Wind Sailing School (http://www.fairwindsailing.com/) has been selected by the American Sailing Association (ASA) to host a Catamaran Instructor Qualification Clinic (IQC) in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands on October 17 and 18, 2007. This clinic will be the only opportunity for sailing instructors to earn ASA qualifications in the Caribbean this year. "We are honored to be the only location selected in the Caribbean to offer Instructor Qualification and are pleased to have this opportunity to help the ASA expand its instructor qualifications," commented David Bello, President of Fair Wind Sailing School. "We believe we are the best sailing school in the islands and are thrilled to add instructor qualification to our repertoire," continued Bello.

The IQC, which will qualify participants to teach ASA 114 Cruising Catamaran Lessons, will be conducted from Fair Wind Sailing School's Red Hook, St Thomas location and will be taught by an Instructor Evaluator brought to the Virgin Islands by Fair Wind Sailing School. The clinic will consist of one day of practice and one day of examination aboard Fair Wind's Leopard 45 catamaran. The Leopard 45, also known as the Moorings 4500, is a Cruising Boat of The Year Winner and ideally designed for the sailing conditions in the Caribbean. "This is one of the best vessels used for sailing instruction; I'm sure our instructor guests will enjoy the cat as much as our charter guests and sailing school students," offered Bello. Registration for the IQC is limited and can be completed by qualified individuals online by visiting the ASA website https://www.american-sailing.com/instructors/instructor_clinics.html.
