Ken Baker Joins Rees Associates, Inc. in Atlanta as National Senior Living Practice Leader

The national architectural, interior design, and planning firm of Rees Associates, Inc. welcomes Ken Baker. Baker will serve as Vice President and Senior Living Practice Leader in the REES' Atlanta office.

Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) September 24, 2007 -- The architectural, planning and interior design firm Rees Associates, Inc. now has three national practice leaders based in its Southeastern hub. Ken Baker has joined REES' Healthcare and Interior Design practice leaders in Atlanta to lead the Senior Living practice. Well known in the senior living industry, Baker has also had a high visibility career in government, including serving as Regional Representative for the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor and as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Baker will serve as a vice president on the REES management team, and work with REES' president and CEO, Frank Rees, Jr., to continue to build the firm's senior living practice. REES has completed more than 300 senior living projects in the specialty areas of continuing care retirement communities and retirement campus repositioning, independent living, assisted living and nursing care.

Baker joined REES from THW Design, a local firm focused on continuing care retirement. From 1990-1993, he managed business development for Freeman White Architects, Inc., a healthcare and senior housing design firm in Charlotte, N.C. From 1988-1990, Baker founded and served as president of The Lincoln Company, Inc. in Atlanta, offering strategic marketing and government affairs planning to businesses. From 1984-1988, he held a White House appointment, serving as the Regional Representative for the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor. He oversaw the workforce activities in eight southeastern states and served as a spokesperson for labor initiatives. Prior to holding that position, he served as a member of the House of Representatives for the State of Tennessee for two terms.

He is a graduate of Lambuth University with post-graduate studies at the University of Tennessee. He is currently a member of the Urban Land Institute; the American Association of Housing and Services for Aging; NAHB, Senior Housing Council; the Association of Non Profit Homes for Aging; and the Society for Marketing Professional Services.
