Bestselling Book Proves Market Potential for Self-Improvement Industry With Biblical Principles

With "The 4:8 Principle" spiking the charts its first week of release, the book buying market is proving that it is ready to learn in a way we haven't seen since Norman Vincent Peale wrote his classics ...

Mount Jackson, VA (PRWEB) September 23, 2007 -- "The 4:8 Principle" is a little book with a big smile. Its joy-filled message is bringing hope and help to its thousands of new owners. It has also breathed new life into the Christian Self-Improvement Industry says Internet Book Marketing expert, Randy Gilbert (a.k.a. Dr Proactive).

Gilbert, whose Internet Marketing team was hired by Tommy Newberry, author of "The 4:8 Principle: The Secret to a Joy-filled Life," says that the Christian self-help and self-improvement book market as we know it today virtually came into being overnight with Norman Vincent Peale's "The Power of Positive Prayer." While many gems have been published since then, Gilbert feels that too often the writing he sees is unappealing to non-Christians and 'preachy' without enough 'help'.

An example he gives us is the recently popular book and movie from the secular self-improvement category, "The Secret". Gilbert admits that he enjoyed the message and agrees that 'the law of attraction' it talks about certainly seems to hold true most of the time. While the general self-improvement book market is generally favorable towards the law of attraction topic, Gilbert thinks too many fundamental Christians seem to resent the secular message being taught with the law of attraction. He says the reaction he often sees from Christian writers is that works such as "The Secret" create false hope and security without a need for God.

Gilbert says he rarely enjoys promoting a message as much as the one in this book. Support for the marketing has been huge and has not been limited to Christians. The sales results prove that there is a wide market eager and ready for some Bible-based 'how to'.

In just a few days after the book's release, it reached the online bestseller lists for both mega online bookstores Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. It has held #1 overall for both retailers as well as in its category. Gilbert predicts it will stay within the top ten for a while yet and is aimed for the NY Times list.

So, what's so different about this happy little book? "The 4:8 Principle" teaches how God wants us to think ... and therefore be. Its message is startlingly similar to "The Secret" which focuses on 'The Law of Attraction'. Because the Bible verse Philippians 4:8 tells the Christians of Philippi to think about good, true, excellent, praiseworthy and beautiful things.

Tommy Newberry is the founder and head coach of The 1% Club, an organization dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and their families maximize their full potential. Known for his blunt, highly practical, no nonsense coaching style, Tommy has earned the title of America's Success Coach.
