Allure of Niagara Falls honeymoon is abundance of both traditional & modern activities

Niagara Falls, ON (PRWEB) September 24, 2007 -- Stories vary as to how Niagara Falls became "Honeymoon Capital of the World." Some attribute it to Aaron Burr's daughter, Theodosia, who chose a Niagara Falls honeymoon in 1801. Others say it was Napoleon Bonaparte's brother--Jerome--who sparked the tradition in 1804. Nevertheless, today over 50,000 honeymooners choose a Niagara Falls getaway each year, and the Canadian destination maintains its popularity.

Part of Niagara's attraction for couples is the old-fashioned romance for which the destination is known. As one of the world's most magnificent natural wonders, the Falls themselves are an enchanting and memorable sight for lovers. And couples are overwhelmed for choice in accommodations--well over 50 hotels continue to offer an array of Niagara Falls honeymoon suites, including charming Bed & Breakfast accommodations as well as elegant Fallsview hotels.

Niagara Falls' real appeal for today's couples is the outstanding range of attractions and activities. More and more, couples want to get out and enjoy their honeymoon destination, and a Niagara Falls honeymoon caters to sightseers, golfers, wine lovers, and those who want nightlife, too.
According to Anna Pierce, Executive Director of Niagara Falls Tourism, "Niagara Falls' real appeal for today's couples is the outstanding range of attractions and activities. More and more, couples want to get out and enjoy their honeymoon destination, and a Niagara Falls honeymoon caters to sightseers, golfers, wine lovers, and those who want nightlife, too."

Traditional Niagara attractions such as the Maid of the Mist boat tour, Journey Behind the Falls, or Niagara Air Tours continue to be popular activities for a honeymoon in Niagara Falls. Now, these are enhanced by eight world-class golf courses, twenty-five Niagara-on-the-Lake vineyards just 15 minutes away, and the Fallsview Casino with nightly entertainment and five-star Niagara hotel accommodations.

Making Niagara honeymoon that much more unique: all honeymooners who visit the Niagara Falls Tourism Office receive an "Official City of Niagara Falls Honeymoon Certificate" along with free admission for the bride to a variety of Niagara attractions.
