Jyco Weatherseals come with "instant customer service" for OEM assembly.

Windsor, Ontario (PRWEB) May 30, 2007 -- As Chrysler gears up for the July launch of their 2008 minivan, one of their suppliers is extending an extraordinary level of customer service to make sure that the cogs keep moving smoothly.

Jyco Sealing Technologies was selected by the automaker to provide the front and rear door glass run channels - the latter for the first-ever, glass-down sliding door in a Chrysler minivan. To make sure that their customer would get the fastest possible response to any questions, suggestions or issues that might arise regarding these TPV dynamic weathersealing systems, Jyco designated a customer service liaison to handle this program exclusively, and located her office right in the assembly plant.

I monitor logistics and stay in constant touch with the line engineers for any opportunity to enhance the assembly of our parts
"I monitor logistics and stay in constant touch with the line engineers for any opportunity to enhance the assembly of our parts," said Holly Quinn from her office at Chrysler's Windsor, Ontario assembly plant. "It's usually small things, like the way the parts are packed. The seals are flexible, but by packing them flat and positioning them in the carton for clean access right at the assembly line, the parts didn't have to recover their shape and it saved the assemblers a little time. Small improvements like this can add up."

Holly is one a several customer liaisons that Jyco has dedicated to specific programs. All are located at or near the assembly plants, and relay observations and feedback to Jyco launch manager Serge Garcia or corporate quality manager Sandy Rochkind. Both are based at the company's engineering center in Dexter, Michigan. Being on-site, the customer liaison can quickly relay the Jyco team's response back to the customer, typically in a matter of hours or minutes rather than days.

This level of responsiveness has been characteristic of Jyco since the company was founded in 2000, when the company pioneered automotive weathersealing technology using thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPV) in North American. Jyco developed a proprietary compound (JyFlex) that performed as well or better than the traditional compounds in virtually all window sealing applications, and introduced process innovations that accelerated product development cycles, reduced costs, emitted no VOCs in processing, and offered 100% recyclability of scrap.

Today Jyco is a world leader in TPV design, engineering and process technology for automotive, heavy truck and RV weathersealing applications. Jyco has operations in Belgium, Canada, China, Japan, Mexico and the United States.
