Musician's Friend Donates $10 to the National Cancer Research Foundation for Every Heil PR-20P Pink Microphone Sold and Also Showcases New Heil Microphones

Medford, OR (PRWEB) August 20, 2008 -- Musician's Friend, the world's largest direct marketer of music gear, has extended their efforts to raise funds for the National Cancer Research Foundation. Through September 30, 2008, Musician's Friend will donate $10 to support breast cancer research for every Heil PR-20P Pink Pearl Microphone purchased.

Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer according to a World Cancer Report published by the World Health Organization with reported cases increasing dramatically since the 1970s. Vocalists, drummers, and all musicians are invited to join Heil Sound and Musician's Friend to aid research and development and bring hope to breast cancer victims.

It all goes back to Joe (Walsh--Eagles guitarist)
Set apart by the pink pearl finish and pink ribbon emblem signifying breast cancer awareness, the Heil Sound Pink Pearl PR-20P Large-Diaphragm Vocal Microphone is the flagship model from Heil's new Spotlight Series. It incorporates Heil's new dynamic microphone technology found in the famed PR-20 microphone that offers full bandwidth performance, low handling noise, and the ability to manage high sound pressure levels. The PR-20P mirrors the PR-20 in every way except for its pink cosmetics.

Heil Sound founder Bob Heil recalls the creation of the PR series dynamic mics: "It all goes back to Joe (Walsh--Eagles guitarist)" who said, "Everything from toilet paper to skyscrapers are new, so how come my microphone is 30 years old?" Walsh added, "Everything bigger sounds better. Make me something bigger." To meet Joe's request, Heil's PR Series Microphones provide improved articulation for vocal performance, snare drums, and cymbals in live performance, commercial broadcasts, or professional recording.

New this summer, the Heil Sound PR22 Noise Rejection Microphone is also based on the popular PR-20 but features reduced handling noise. Both the PR-20P and PR-22 come with a leatherette carrying bag, mic clip, and three metal windscreens.

The newly introduced Heil Sound The Fin Dynamic Microphone integrates Heil's new dynamic microphone technology and is housed in a unique art deco chrome body with four LED lamps mounted inside that illuminate when the microphone is activated, bathing the grille in light and giving it a retro vibe. Musician's Friend offers this Heil mic with a choice of white, red or blue LED lamps. The Heil Fin Microphone is ideal for vocals, instrument amplifiers, harmonica, and speech.

Since 1982, Heil Sound has been the leading manufacturer of communications microphones and has a paramount understanding of phasing. This knowledge results in clean sound with excellent rear rejection that prevents capture of unwanted sounds. Heil Sound has a solid reputation for delivering quality microphones at prices working musicians can afford.
