FamilyFantasySports.com, the fantasy sports site dedicated to family friendly fun, will award a Grand Prize of $25,000 for college savings to the winner of its 2008 NFL Season.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 21, 2008 -- FamilyFantasySports.com is helping build stronger, more financially secure families by awarding $40,000 in contributions to 529 college savings accounts during the 2008 Fantasy Football Season.

With the average cost of one year of college over $15,000 and tuition and expenses at private colleges and universities approaching $30,000, America's families face continued pressure to pay for their children's higher education.

This all began when we saw how much quality time families were spending playing fantasy sports together. Building a site focused on family play and awarding money for college expenses was an obvious next step
By playing in the free leagues at FamilyFantasySports.com, participants, including kids and parents, have a chance at winning the $25,000 college savings contribution Grand Prize. FamilyFantasySports.com will contribute the prizes into the winner's qualified 529 College Savings Account.

According to FamilyFantasySports.com's CEO David J. Miller, "Our entire site is dedicated to building healthy and strong families. We believe 529 accounts are one of the best tools available to American families for managing the incredible costs of educating their kids."

In addition to the $25,000 Grand Prize, players in the site's free leagues will have a chance to win the $10,000 529 contribution First Prize, and the $5,000 529 contribution Second Prize. Weekly prizes supporting education, health and fitness, and family entertainment will be awarded as well.

"This all began when we saw how much quality time families were spending playing fantasy sports together. Building a site focused on family play and awarding money for college expenses was an obvious next step," said David Tasner, FamilyFantasySports.com's President.

FamilyFantasySports.com's free leagues for the 2008 NFL season are now forming. Public leagues, including Father-Child and Mother-Child leagues, and private leagues are available.
