Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 20, 2008 -- EnerTech Environmental, Inc. announced today that its sub-licensee in Japan, Mitsubishi Kakoki Kaisha Ltd. (MKK) has completed a 4 ton-per-day "MegaFuel Sewer Sludge Treatment Process" demonstration facility in Kusatsu city, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. The facility, which employs EnerTech's proprietary SlurryCarb™ process, has been in operation since February 2008 and will test undigested sludge from Kusatsu's wastewater treatment plant under the joint study program to be conducted by Shiga Prefecture, Japan Institute of Wastewater Engineering & Technology (JIWET), Mitsubishi Corporation and MKK. This is the second plant built by MKK to demonstrate the SlurryCarb™ process.

EnerTech's SlurryCarb™ process, marketed in Japan as the "MegaFuel Sewer Sludge Treatment System," economically produces a renewable fuel, called E-Fuel, from biosolids and other high-moisture wastes. EnerTech's Licensee, Mitsubishi Corporation, and its sub-licensee, MKK, have completed extensive market research on the commercial viability of the SlurryCarb™ process in Japan and are expecting to financially close on the next Japanese SlurryCarb™ facility by 2011.

"EnerTech's relationship with Mitsubishi continues to be a valuable asset for the company, both in terms of technology and future revenue streams," said Kevin Bolin, EnerTech CEO. "Mitsubishi and MKK have invested considerable resources in marketing SlurryCarb™ to the Japanese market. The team assembled from both Mitsubishi Corporation and MKK is very impressive and highly qualified, and we are seeing continued interest as a result of their efforts."

Mitsubishi Corporation licensed the SlurryCarb™ technology from EnerTech in 2003 for the territory of Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. MKK has since sublicensed the technology from Mitsubishi Corporation and has designed, built, and successfully operated the facility.
