Medicare-PartD.com releases their RxSavings-Center to help Medicare beneficiaries and others find prescription drug savings at their local retailers. The RxSavings-Center provides a variety of ways for people to compare discount drug programs including, alphabetical searching by drug name, searching by drug category, or a combination search of drug categories and discount drug programs. Discount drug information is also cross referenced with several lists of popular medications including a list of the top 100 Medicare drugs. Links for each medication provide users with more information on drug strengths, form and quantity, as well as discount drug program pricing, availability and program stipulations.

Saint Augustine, FL (Vocus) August 27, 2008 -- The Medicare-PartD.com website announces the release of their RxSavings-Center designed to help Medicare beneficiaries and others find low cost prescription drugs at their local retailers. The RxSavings-Center is available to the public at no cost and provides online users with several ways of searching for medications offered by national and regional retail discount drug programs.

We designed the RxSavings-Center in direct response to the requests of our online community which includes many Medicare beneficiaries who are entering the coverage gap or ‘donut hole’ portion of their Medicare Part D prescription drug plans.
The prescription drug information in the RxSavings-Center is organized in many ways, allowing people to search through the medications alphabetically by drug name, by drug usage category, or by browsing a list of medications that are found in at least one of the retail discount drug programs. Several other popular drug lists are also cross referenced with the retailer discount drug data, including a list of the top 100 Medicare drugs. Also available is the RxSavings-Finder, an advanced search tool designed to compare up to four retail discount drug programs across up to three drug usage categories at one time. The RxSavings-Finder allows users to concentrate their search specifically on those retail discount drug programs and drug usage categories that are important to them.

During their search, RxSavings-Center users can also click on a particular medication for more details such as the form, strengths, quantity, and discount program availability. In addition, users can focus their search on a particular retailer’s discount drug program to get an idea of the available medications, as well as any discount program stipulations, such as whether a retailer’s discount drug program is available to Medicare beneficiaries.

Dr. Susan Johnson, who leads the technical development of the Medicare-PartD.com website, noted that, “We designed the RxSavings-Center in direct response to the requests of our online community which includes many Medicare beneficiaries who are entering the coverage gap or ‘donut hole’ portion of their Medicare Part D prescription drug plans.” The coverage gap is the phase of a Part D plan when the Medicare beneficiary is, once again, 100% responsible for the cost of their medications. “Most people are well aware of the discount drug programs offered by national and regional retailers. However, now with our RxSavings-Center Medicare beneficiaries and other prescription drug users can quickly compare the different discount drug programs in their area,” added Dr. Johnson.

The RxSavings-Center currently cross-references approximately 400 discount drugs that are available at one or more national or regional retailers and the Medicare-PartD.com staff is working with several sources to bring other discount drug program data and search features online. Medicare-PartD.com also provides an online RxSavings-Center tutorial to guide new users through the RxSavings-Center and RxSavings-Finder.

The Rx Savings-Center and RxSavings-Finder join the many online tools, resources, monthly Medicare Part D Newsletter, and tutorials designed to help Medicare beneficiaries, advocates, advisors, and insurance agents navigate the Medicare prescription drug plans (PDPs).
