(PRWEB) September 7, 2008 -- Fontana City Council Member and California's 43rd District Congressional Candidate John Roberts joined the supporters of the Wounded Warrior Workplace Initiative. Roberts backs his belief that "an elected official is responsible for serving the people" by enlisting with the other members to support wounded veterans and their families.

The bipartisan initiative proposes an increase in employment for wounded veterans or their immediate family by Congressional Candidates or members of Congress. Roberts' belief in the Rotary International's motto "Service Above Self" will be made evident in his pursuit to hire wounded veterans and their family members to his Congressional staff.    "This is a great example of something that we can support that crosses partisan lines," explains Congressional candidate John Roberts. "This is a good way to show support for our veterans by doing something that will genuinely make a difference." added Roberts.

Democratic congressional candidate, Joel Gill from the 3rd District of Mississippi said when making the pledge, "These brave men and women gave their best and now it is our time to return what we can to them and their families."

Republican congressional candidate, Dan Mansell from the 2nd District of North Carolina said when making the pledge, "Being a veteran myself, I feel we need to do everything we can to support our wounded soldiers."
Democratic congressional candidate, Paul Renneisen from the 22nd District of Florida said when making the pledge, "Without question I support this great initiative and I have already hired a veteran on my staff."

Four other California Candidates joined John Roberts in supporting wounded veterans.  With Roberts and his fellow statesmen backing the bi-partisan initiative they could see his goal of "creating jobs" met shortly after being elected.
