Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 30, 2008 -- "Lottie's Adventure: A Kidnapping Unraveled," a new children's novel by Barbara Frances, is a lively, exciting page-turner as well as an enriching reading experience.

"News Image Children's books should be created to not only hold their audience's attention but also leave them better readers at the end of the last page," says Frances. "I wrote 'Lottie's Adventure' with that objective in mind, so that the book can be as valuable in the classroom as out of it."

Lottie, a 10-year-old Hispanic girl, longs for excitement and adventure to spice up her long summer. She finds just that when she receives a magical letter. Lottie is hurled into an adventure in which she must try to relate to a cold yet rich grandmother, free a boy from a locked room and hide him away, and then flee from a ruthless kidnapper who is close on her heels.

"Lottie's Adventure," published by Positive Imaging, is written for children between the ages of 8 and 14. The book is available for sale on its web site, http://www.lottiesadventure.com, for $12.95 plus shipping and at retail and online bookstores. The web site includes a sample chapter for readers, "Lottie's Adventure" apparel such as T-shirts and caps, and an invaluable Teacher's Guide developed by a Reading Skills specialist.

"The story rolls along from one event to another at a pace that keeps us intrigued with Lottie's fate. She draws us into her world of colorful characters and fast-paced adventure as we savor the fun through the eyes of this bright and curious pre-teen," says Beryl Knifton, a secondary school drama coach and educator. "The people are real; the places are memorable; Lottie is honest and smart and endearing. There's a surprise around every corner. This is the kind of book you won't want to put down."
