On Sunday Oct. 12, San Joaquin Community Hospital's Bariatric Solutions will host the Fourth Annual Bariatric Solutions' Celebration which honors the successes of the programs weight-loss patients from both the surgical and non-surgical divisions of the service line.
Bakersfield, CA (PRWEB) October 8, 2008 -- On Sunday Oct. 12, San Joaquin Community Hospital's Bariatric Solutions will host the Fourth Annual Bariatric Solutions' Celebration which honors the successes of the programs weight-loss patients from both the surgical and non-surgical divisions of the service line.
Beginning at 1 p.m. at Kern River Picnic Grounds, this year's celebration, "You Better Shape Up," will have a Grease-like, 1950's flare and will feature guest appearances by celebrity husband and wife duo Gina Lombardi and Kevin Sizemore. The day will also include free lunch catered by El Pollo Loco and multiple giveaways.
Lombardi is the host of Discovery Channel's wildly popular Fit Nation, a columnist and spokesperson for Health Magazine and the most requested health and fitness radio guest in the country.
A professional DJ and actor, Sizemore has appeared on numerous programs including NCIS, Without a Trace and 24. In 2008, Sizemore appears on the hit Fox show Prison Break.
Sheri Seal-Bailey, director of Bariatric Solutions, is excited for the event, which reunites many of the patients that have been positively impacted by the weight-loss programs.
"Seeing these patients again never gets old," Seal-Bailey said. "Many of them, upon first coming to us didn't really think they could ever be happy with their weight. It's wonderful to be able to have an event like this that continues to celebrate their achievements."
Since the program began, more than 800 surgical patients have lost more than 78,500 pounds. Numerous others have achieved their weight loss goals through the non-surgical HMR Program which offers a variety of diet options that emphasize easy strategies for weight loss and management.
