City takes advantage of innovative SSL technology to reduce maintenance costs.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) November 7, 2008 -- Driving into Winsted, Minnesota recently became more inviting thanks to the city's four new display signs designed and manufactured by local company, Millerbernd Lighting. Brent Mareck, Winsted city administrator, says, "The new welcome signs allow Winsted to showcase local talent in a cost effective manner."

"The signs, which stand 8 feet tall by 10 feet wide is an example of Millerbernd's custom lighting capabilities," says Larry Biske, Millerbernd Lighting division manager. Biske continues, "Our engineers and lighting designers can access most needs, they can effectively modify electrical and mechanical specifications to complement nearly any situation."

Millerbernd's SSL lighting will save the City of Winsted up to 45% on ongoing maintenance and that is a welcome for our tax payers as well as our visitors.
By day the sign welcomes visitors with its unique shape, bright colors, and sturdy supports of stainless steel. The posts and sign were cut by Millerbernd Laser. By night the sign is lighted by Millerbernd Lighting's addition of SSL lights. Being very energy efficient with no wasted light or heat, SSL lights are one of the most economical signage solutions available today, saving up to 90% more energy than traditional lighting. In addition, the solid-state nature of SSL provides for greater resistance to shock, vibration, and wear, thereby increasing its lifespan significantly. Mareck explains, "Millerbernd's SSL lighting will save the City of Winsted up to 45% on ongoing maintenance and that is a welcome for our tax payers as well as our visitors."

"The signs are a welcome sight for Winsted residents who were full of compliments at the voting booths yesterday," said Mareck.
