New Website Helps Minor League Baseball Players Stay In Their Spikes

IndependentMinorLeagueBaseball.com gives current and retired minor league baseball players useful how-to information for their careers. Current players, retired players, managers, coaches, and anyone ever involved with independent professional baseball players now have access to information which can help them remain in the baseball industry.

Addison, TX (PRWEB) November 11, 2008 -- With experience in five seasons of independent minor league baseball, former minor league catcher and assistant general manager, Matt Mc Dermott, listened to the complaints of previous teammates and current players who wanted to continue their careers in professional baseball.

Many of these professional baseball veterans expressed concerns about what to do after being cut from teams, not knowing how to play baseball overseas, uncertainty about finding upcoming professional tryouts, and how to get in better shape for the next season. Retired players wanted to know how to continue their careers in professional baseball, how to write resumes, and how to interview for their first full-time jobs outside of baseball; and interns and other front office personnel wanted to know where to find jobs in pro baseball.

Others involved with independent professional baseball indicated that they wanted a centralized location of where to get press releases, standings, statistics, and general news from the other leagues. They also wanted historical statistics from previously-operating independent leagues.

"I listened to these complaints and concerns, and decided to put the information into one location," Mc Dermott said. "The result is a membership website where anyone involved with the minor leagues, either the affiliated leagues or the independent leagues, can sign up and get relevant information right away."

"Many players asked me how to play baseball overseas, become a coach, find upcoming tryouts, how to find a job in the off-season, and advice for basic everyday skills. I went out and found useful 'how-to' articles from authority sites, e-books, reports, and online videos. In upcoming months, members also will receive recordings of interviews with managers, front office executives, and league officials about topics of importance to those involved with the independent leagues."
