United States Concealed Carry Association founder Tim Schmidt announced that the United States Concealed Carry Association raised $12,436 for The Fisher House, a charity which helps wounded or ill soldiers recover by providing their family with a home near the military hospital in which to stay. Incredibly, this all came about from a chance encounter with a car bumper sticker. Mr Schmidt saw a bumper sticker that read "If you can read this, thank a teacher... If you are reading this in English, thank a U.S. Solider."

Jackson, Mississippi (PRWEB) November 20, 2008 -- United States Concealed Carry Association Raises More Than $12,000 for Military Soldiers.

United States Concealed Carry Association founder Tim Schmidt announced that the United States Concealed Carry Association raised $12,436 for The Fisher House, a charity which helps wounded or ill soldiers recover by providing their family with a home near the military hospital in which to stay.

The concept for this donation was based around a product entitled '107 Handgun Accuracy secrets" in which Tim Schmidt pledged to donate 10% of all proceeds from the product. The sale ran through November 7th, at which time the Handgun Accuracy Package was pulled from the shelves indefinitely. Once the sales numbers were in, it was calculated that the USCCA would be donating the monumental sum of $12,436 to the Fisher House.

Incredibly, this all came about from a chance encounter with a car bumper sticker.

Mr Schmidt saw a bumper sticker that read "If you can read this, thank a teacher...
If you are reading this in English, thank a U.S. Solider."

He went on to say "I didn't need a bumper sticker to remind me of the debt that I am in to the soldiers who have served under the beautiful flag of the United States of America since 1775... but it was is great message, and that bumper sticker really put a smile on my face!"

It was at that moment he knew that finding a way to raise money for Fisher House was crucial, and operation 'Honored Sacrifice' was born: http://operationhonoredsacrifice.com

After speaking with the Fisher House's Executive Vice President of Communications, Mr. Jim. Weiskopf, Mr Schmidt could see that they really believed in what they do, and so did he.

The 'Fisher House' serves more than 10,000 families of U.S. soldiers every year, by providing their family with a 'comfort home' on military bases where their wounded or ill family member is hospitalized. They have helped so many people in truly magnificent ways.

The entire team at USCAA was very humbled by the support of the members at www.USConcealedCarry.com whose support made this all possible, and plans are already being put into place to reach the goal of $55,000 in donations.

Pat Kilchermann, a team member of USCCA added, "The USCCA believes in giving back to the military community. Especially to the soldiers and families of soldiers who have been injured in service to their country."

This just goes to show, a bumper sticker and the desire to help others can go an awful long way.
